In close collaboration with de la Mora Interpreter Training, Katty Kauffman and Associates is pleased to bring to the region a number of courses designed specifically with U.S. and South American court interpreters in mind. Our training programs are taught in Spanish and English.

Specialized Training in Interpreting in Criminal Court

Taught entirely online, this program seeks to train interpreters based in Latin America in the skills, terminology and ethics needed to perform effectively in oral proceedings in criminal court. The program is divided into two sections:

  • Best practices.  Taught in Spanish, this portion of the program focuses on technique, ethics and trouble-shooting approaches.
  • English-language terminology.   Based on the U.S. federal system, this portion of the program is designed to provide criminal court interpreters working from Spanish into English with the specific terminology they need to perform effectively.
